Our story

Born in Mexico, praised in America. That’s Cabo Wabo.

Thick Cut Roots

Sammy Hagar, our founder and an American legend in his own right, was devoted to creating a tequila that would embody his beliefs of living free, working hard and playing harder. A tequila that would celebrate his spiritual stomping ground, Cabo San Lucas, a place without limitations, inhibitions, or boundaries.

The result is an unquestionably Mexican tequila, made with an undeniably American spirit.

Thick Cut Lifestyle

Thick Cut is our outlook and way of life. It’s doing things bigger, bolder and better by tapping into our legendary roots and never forgetting the spirit of freedom behind everything we do.

It’s about going all in on what you love and going all out when you get the chance to have some fun.

Thick Cut Partners

The Thickest Cut tequila is teaming up with the fastest sport in the world. The result? Two legendary brands bringing the bold this year.

Whether it’s living life to the fullest or crossing the finish line, Cabo Wabo Tequila and NASCAR share a passion for doing things with full-on flavor. So get revved up and raise your Caborita from the stands of a speedway near you.

Thick Cut Process

It takes skill, know-how and patience to make a Thick Cut tequila. Only Cabo Wabo takes an unapologetic approach to building the boldest possible liquid without sacrificing quality.

Then we purposefully take a thicker cut of the distillate, allowing more of the “head” and the “tail” to influence the “heart,” which delivers a more unfiltered, raw agave-forward taste.
